Itinerary Day 1. Ulaan Baatar. Arrival to Ulaanbaatar. Our Sod Namnaa Company's guide will meet you at the “Mongolian railway” train station or Airport and arrange your transfer to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a performance of Mongolian folk art . Depending on your arrival time, there is the possibility for a whole or partial day city tour, including a visit to Gandan Monastery with its 26 m high gold-plated statue of Megjid Janraisag. Afterwards, an excursion to the National History Museum, where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to the present, and displays of the development of Mongolian arts and culture. Day 2. Ulaan Baatar to Kharkhorum. Travel overland (350 km/210 miles) to the ancient capital Kharkhorum. The ruins of ancient capital of the Mongolian great empire Kharakhorum is at the crossroads of the Silk Road. Visit the Erdene-Zuu Monastery, the first Buddhist lamasery centre dating back to the 16th century with its 108 stupas. Overnight in a Ger camp. Day 3 - 6. Kharkhorum to Ugii lake After breakfast we drive to Ugii lake. Homestay. Take part in daily activities of the family. Most repeated duties are making milk the animals, processing dairies, bringing the animals home from the pasture. Horseback riding is essential part of the Nomadic family. Day 7. Ugii lake to Ulaanbaatar Drive back toward Ulaanbaatar. If you desire you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops before attending a performance of national folklore. Day 8. Ulaan Baatar. Travel back to the capital. Visit the Gandantegzilen Monastery which is the centre of Buddhism in Mongolia. In the evening free time. Day 9. Depart Ulaan Baatar. Our guide and driver will deliver you at the “Mongolian Railway” train station or Airport for departure to your country. What’s included - All transportation as specified in the itinerary.
